Stacey
reads a viewer email from Ahmed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia while Chuck’s
Tip of the Week deals with the voice actor’s most important tool, the
voice over demo. Portia Scott-Hicks, top voice over agent, talks about
her journey from classically trained actor to running the voice over
division at Coast to Coast Talent Group in Los Angeles. Portia explains
how she uses her background as a performer to help direct voice actors
in the booth and reveals what she finds are the common missteps actors
make in their auditions. We get to hear about the one-woman show she
produced, co-wrote and starred in called, The Secret Diary of Saundra
Woodward and how the experience of doing this successful show changed
the course of her life.

Queen of animation offers grateful perspective for getting VO jobs.
The
first episode of VO Buzz Weekly for 2013 kicks off with a helpful Tip
of The Week about using your hands while reading your VO scripts. Then
the mayhem begins with guest Grey DeLisle, the hyper-energetic queen of
animation, as she takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of fun and

Chuck

recommends an inspiring book called Life in the Bonus Round, written by
her Family Game Night colleague and Souls For Soles Ambassador, Todd
Newton. Guest Bill Ratner, voice of Flint on G.I. Joe, 8-time Moth Story
SLAM winner takes us back to his childhood and reveals how he went from
morning radio to voice over work. He discusses the turning point in his
career and how he got his first agent from doing workshops and
continuing to study constantly for years.
He offers advice to
voice actors starting out and talks about how he approached his voice
over career like a business and promoted himself from the very
beginning. Bill speaks about making the transition to digital media and

Mahar, producer and director of the fascinating voice over documentary
film UNSEEN featuring Beau Weaver, Bill Ratner, Melissa Disney and Ben

Molly talks about her experience working at the
trailer house Buddha Jones and how it inspired her to want to make a
film about voice over actors. She shares her hopes for the film, how
people can see it and the things she learned about the voice over
business from doing the film.
Molly discusses the benefits of
graduating from USC Film School and other documentary projects she has
done. We learn why she likes to make documentary films and gives more
details about the filming UNSEEN as well as who inspires her as a
