EPISODE 280 - Chuck and Stacey continue their interview with Crispin Freeman, anime, animation and video game actor loved by fans in Overwatch, Young Justice, Helsing, Naruto, World of Warcraft, Diablo III and Spectacular Spiderman. Crispin is also a dynamic voiceover coach, mythology scholar and creator of the Voice Acting Mastery podcast. He goes into detail about his passion for storytelling, mythology and Japanese animation and how they’re connected. EPISODE 279 - Chuck and Stacey proudly welcome versatile anime, animation and video game actor, Crispin Freeman, to the show. Loved for his role of Winston in Blizzard Entertainment’s hit video game Overwatch, Crispin is also a sought after voiceover coach, mythology scholar and creator of the Voice Acting Mastery podcast. Crispin and Chuck reminisce about recording Crispin’s voice over demos together and he goes on to share the story of how he landed his role in Overwatch. He talks about how revolutionary Overwatch is in breaking stereotypes and clichés through its uplifting message and the ways he identifies with Winston’s personality and ideology. He shares his approach to voice acting auditions, and why he finds the psychology of the character and aspects of his own personality that he can put into it. Crispin explains his coaching method that utilizes his extensive training and real-life industry experience to educate his students, and how active watching and listening are imperative to voice acting. He explains what inspired him to create his podcast, VoiceActingMastery.com, and closes with some misconceptions he finds people have about voice acting and why he believes he’s an effective coach.

EPISODE 278 - Chuck and Stacey finish their conversation with Heather Dame (formerly Heather Vergo), talent agent and VP Director of Development at Atlas Talent Los Angeles. Heather discusses the voiceover demo and gives advice for making the proper sales tool and also tells what a talent should expect and be prepared for when meeting with an agent. She explains the expectations that Atlas Talent has of their actors and speaks to the importance of having good communication between the agent and their talent. Heather answers some misconceptions talent may have about the role of an agent and shares her personal story of how she found her way from acting in Boston to working TV production in New York, to moving to Los Angeles. She talks about how she stays motivated and inspired as an agent and offers great advice to voice actors for having success in the voiceover industry.

Heather explains what a voice actor needs to bring to the table in today’s industry, from understanding your skill set to knowing the opportunities that are available where you live. She stresses the importance of learning how to network effectively and gives her opinion about how a voice actor should use social media to their benefit. Heather explains some of the reasons why voice actors don’t get signed with Atlas and shares how agency owners, Jonn Wasser and Lisa Marber-Rich and the entire team of agents work hard for their talent, coast to coast. She talks about some of the do’s and don’t’s for submitting to Atlas Talent for representation and answers what a talent should do if they don’t get a response or get “passed on” for representation by Atlas.
