Meet living legend and the first lady of animation, June Foray.
Chuck
and Stacey J. are so honored to welcome to VO Buzz Weekly a true living
legend and the First Lady of animation, June Foray. In Part 1, you’ll
be treated to a montage of some of June’s most memorable characters,
from the very first one to today, and hear how her incredible career
began when she was just 15 years old. She talks about her favorite
characters and makes one of Chuck’s childhood dreams come true with a
little Rocky and Bullwinkle improv.
June reflects on teaching
students at USC, SC and Cal Arts and recounts how she was instrumental
in starting the ASIFA Hollywood organization and what we know today as
the Annie Awards. She shares her experience of winning her first Emmy
award in 2012 for her role as Mrs. Cauldron in the Garfield Show. Be

Embracing the unknown in order to achieve your ultimate goals.
Chuck
and Stacey remind viewers that there’s still time to get tickets to

Award-winning actor and Emmy-winning voice director, Charlie Adler sits
down to talk about how his amazing career began in theatre and
eventually landed him in a hit show on Broadway.
He passionately
expresses what people say about acting that “push his buttons” and the
common denominator in all forms of acting. Charlie shares how his
animation career started upon moving to Los Angeles by meeting with his
then agent, Arlene Thornton and now dear friend, Ginny McSwain that led
to his first role on an animated series.
He talks about how he later became a teacher and voice director and what he discovered about the business along the way.
Charlie
candidly answers how he approaches animation auditions and why he feels
he has been “two people” at different times in his life. He explains
how he teaches his students to become comfortable with the unknown in
order to achieve your ultimate goals.

Paul
Pape, co-founder of the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab, talks about how
the original vision for the Lab came together to honor his best friend
of over thirty years and hear what’s in store for the future including
opening VO Labs in other cities. See the state-of-the-art facility in VO
Buzz Weekly’s Tribute to Don LaFontaine (Episodes 34 & 35) and hear
personal stories about Don from the four people who knew him the best,
Nita Whitaker LaFontaine, Joe Cipriano, Steve Tisherman and of course,
Paul Pape.
Paul reflects on what he thinks are the keys to his
career success and longevity and how he pays it forward to aspiring
voice actors. He poignantly shares words of wisdom from Don LaFontaine
that have helped him in his voice over career and life. He gives kudos
to voice actors who are giving back in a big way to the community by
serving on the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab Advisory Board like Scott
Rummell, Randy Thomas, George Del Hoyo and Stew Herrera.
Paul
talks about the award-winning short film he created for the 168 Hour
Film Festival with Don LaFontaine and Josh Daugherty called,

A look in to the world of ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement).
Chuck
lets everyone know that his band Rock Sugar (with voice actor, Jess
Harnell) has an upcoming show at Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe on July 27th and
Stacey is heading to Orlando this week to shoot new updates for her
Walt Disney World, Must Do Disney TV show. An awesome email from Mark in
Wilmington, NC is happily read and much appreciated. Chuck and Stacey
along with fellow Neumann Endorsed Artist Paul Pape, gives kudos to
Chris Currier and the team at Sennheiser/Neumann.
Paul, a veteran
voice actor and co-founder of the Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab, started
his career as a theatre and on-camera actor and takes us through how he
got started in voiceover.
He gives viewers a look in to the
world of ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and how it has developed
through the years and what is expected of voice actors working in this
genre of voice over. He talks about his meaningful experiences working
with directors like Barbra Streisand and Kevin Costner and the advanced
technology used today.
Paul, one of the main voices of the Obama
Re-election campaign, offers insights on how he got that gig and other
political campaigns around the country. He shares the process of how the
spots are created and how he handles the pressure.

Maurice
demonstrates some of his unique, warm up exercises he’s created and how
he executes his famous burp, like for Will Ferrell’s character in the
movie Elf and in Animaniacs. We hear the advice, fellow comedian Mike
Binder, gave him that’s helped him in his career to this day.
He
discusses the cancellation of Futurama on Comedy Central and encourages
people who love the show to sign the online petition to help save the
show, again. Maurice expresses his appreciation for the fan support and
hopes it will be picked up on another network or Netflix.
Maurice
tells how he became one of only a few voice actors to be the voice of
Popeye, reveals what he would do if he wasn’t a performer and shares
what he still hopes to accomplish in his career. He tells the story of
how he co-created “International Talk Like William Shatner Day” and what
William Shatner thinks about it. The episode closes with Chuck and
Stacey rallying viewers to create a day to honor Maurice and the IF
