EP 269 Sean Schemmel: Dragon Ball FighterZ Voice of Goku & King Kai

January 28, 2018
Chuck & Stacey are taking Dragon Ball franchise fans up close and personal with Sean Schemmel, the voice of Goku in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Sean is a versatile voice actor, classically trained musician and singer known also as the voice of Goku and King Kai in Dragon Ball, and voice of Master Khan in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sean discusses how his background as a musician and singer helps him protect his vocal chords from damage and demonstrates some of his vocal warm-ups. He talks about honoring the personalities of the characters he plays while maintaining his own personal authenticity and tells the story of how he got the role of Goku in Dragon Ball back in 1999. Sean shares valuable lessons he learned from voice directing top talent in NY and why he stopped teaching music to make voice over his full-time career. He speaks about working with voice over heroes like Frank Welker and Bill Farmer and expresses gratitude for the memorable fan experiences he has had that allow him to give back.
